Types of property in Coventry?

Coventry is a city in the West Midlands. Its present cathedral was built after the destruction of the 14th century cathedral church of Saint Michael by the German Luftwaffe in the Coventry Blitz of 14 November 1940. The ruins of the former cathedral have been left standing as a memorial.

The city has buildings from many eras and, despite the 2nd world war bomb damage, there are still a number which are historically and architecturally interesting and there are surviving properties from the medieval era, the Georgian era and the Victorian era.

Council houses in the city were first let to tenants in 1917 and numerous private and council housing developments took place across the city in the 1920s and 1930s which saw the development of areas such as Radford, Coundon, Canley, Cheylesmore and Stoke Heath.

Further housing developments in the private and public sector took place after the Second World War, including the major prefabricated housing district in south Canley which exists to this day.

There have been further developments, particularly to the city centre, right up to the present day and new build residential developments can be found in places like Brindle Avenue (mews houses), Walsgrave, Penny Park Lane and Fairlands Park off Kenilworth Road (detached houses) and Stoke (terrace and semi-detached properties).

Types of property in Leamington Spa?

Leamington Spa has plenty of Regency architecture (classical buildings built during the Regency Era). The best roads for this type of architecture are The Parade, Clarendon Square and Lansdowne Circus where tall, white classical buildings stand proud.

In 1830, Queen Victoria visited the town, as a princess, and gave it its ‘Royal Prefix’. It can now be known as ‘Royal Leamington Spa’. As a result of this, the town’s popularity grew and more properties were built. Victorian houses can be found on Lillington Road and Tachbrook Road.

New developments in Leamington Spa include Meadowsweet Farm off Harbury Lane that offers one of five bedroom homes designed for contemporary living. Some properties within this development can be bought via the Help to Buy Scheme. Similar developments include The Redwoods and Avonbridge Walk.
